Here's a worn out 462 sitting on a dealers bench in India.
Not sure what all went wrong with it.

Looks like nylon mesh. I wonder if it is the washable filter? Could we see a pic of the top please?

Nice filter, that will let her breathe nice. Yep great for the cold snowy winter but work good in summer too.
I wonder if these are the white filters that came into Canada on the 462.
Gary Jenks can fill us in

The ones I had have gone out for porting so I can't double check but I believe they were more of a white pleated filter.

The weird thing is this filter mentioned as THE OLD ONE in Stihl’s papers.

And it’s gonna be Ok

Trick is just don't leave them dirty too long and the fines won't work through the mesh.

I always tap my filters every time I refuel the saw and always clean them with dish soap and warm water at the end of the day! Trying to prevent things happening.

MS 261 + MS362 same filter. The one on the MS462 is same style different # different size slightly bigger.

I think MS500i filter is larger, like the 661. Oval shaped.

I got new information on the white HD2 filters.
They have the same material as the black one, but only differentcolor cause some guys were to stupid to see how dirty their filter was.
