This is my business saw so I am not the only one who runs it. Anyway I fired it up today for the first time in awhile and it sounded awful. Funny noise on the flywheel side. Took the cover off and the bearings are gone on the flywheel side. The sound was the bearing noise as well as the flywheel grinding against the coil. Pto side bearings don't seem bad. No transfer in the jug. 3.5 years as a work saw done did it in. I will probably rebuild it but don't have time right now and will buy a new saw.

I have been thinking of changing colors. Any thoughts?

Husquvarna is cheaper and you can put a longer bar on it.

I would suggest you just get another Ms 241 if its still the right size of saw for your needs. The Ms 241 has had updates in components since yours was made and 3.5yrs used as a work saw is no worse than other M tron ...Auto tune sorts of saws .

I rather buy MS 241 instead of Husky 543, and this comes from a Husky guy!
It would been different if Husky still produced 242, that was a great light weight saw ;)

Why not go for the new MS 261 MTronic or the new light MS 241?

Light weight and control are what I need, so I would not go larger. And I know the 241 is the lightest in its class. So sanity will likely win out and I will probably just buy another one.

I had an ms 250 before the 241 and got 4 years out of it.
