Interesting on the 32:1. But then again, that is why there are replacement bearings. It is a consumable part. Send it off to get juiced up. All the guys will want to use it when it comes back.
Was the 241 mentioned in the 1st post Mtronic?

Try the next @ 50:1 lol my 241 was bought in December of 14 and we've absolutely ran the crap out of it. the ground guys like the dolmar 421 better though because of its kill switch. When you have to flip it back up a thousand times a day it can get old.

I was always expecting the plastic lever to break just seems too flimsy but it never did. It has a cracked handle and hand guard though.

The 241 is a great little saw and does exactly what I need it to do.

I think I will keep the carcass. I pulled the muffler off and even though there was no scoring it looks like the bearing had been shedding bits and there are scratches on the piston and who knows what else. I don't think I could sell it in good faith.

Considering what parts for these saws cost and a quick add up in my head of what it needs that I know of it is looking uneconomic to rebuild and that is before finding the unknowns that would come to light with a full tear down.

I thought the 241's were always mtronic? I thought it was the 261 and 362 that had non-mtronic versions.

I am not 100%, but I thought the earlier 241's were regular carbed. Mtronic are more recent. Just don't know when the switchover occurred.

Did you ever convert your old 241 to a rim sprocket? I wear about one spur out a year and I'm guessing it's time to go to a 7t rim... I just don't want to kill the torque... mine came with a 6t spur...

They pull the rim just fine , it was the first thing i did to the 2 of mine...plus its cool you just just swap to a .325 rim if you have the itch.

I remember reading some literature about some oils having pib in them and increasing oil ratio was great on the p&c but bad on bearings. True or not I dunno but its something to think about. What oil was it ran on? I'm thinking you said what you used i just don't remember.

I don't want this to become an oil thread but it is an honest question. It got Belray H1R when that was popular and then when Belray fell out of favor Maxima K2 since.
