I would like to give a 620 a run. I'll have a 562 here today if Fedex ever gets here.

The 620PW is heavy, but it is a REALLY well built machine that feels good in the hands. Where they missed the mark was on air filtration. They could have done a better job designing the air filtration system and making it more professional grade. The high-top Huskies with the big filters, HD2 Stihl's and the 6100 Dolmar all come to mind as being superior. Heck, even some of the smaller Echo saws have more 'pro-styled' filter systems.

It is my favorite 60cc offering currently. I am the kind of guy that will sacrifice some power or weight in exchange for build quality, and operator ergonomics (how a saw fits me).

mweba ported one he noted they don't like timing advance and the gains can be had through cutting the base and grinding in the transfer.
the muff mod is cake remove the deflected and remove the tube in the exhaust and add a second port.

Well guys let's show some work. These are what the trans covers looked like after grinding. Yuck. The intake side is a mofo. 20160115_132104.jpg

Fortunately I could fix it all by taking out the covers. Much smoother flow here. 20160115_142032.jpg

And here what I got. I will fully admit this is not the prettiest outcome I've ever had. In fact there's no pretty in this. I have about 5 hours or more in just the trans. 20160115_143200.jpg

I'm totally just watching this from a curiosity point of view - but that intake doesn't make any sense to me.
That triangle shape has me lost, such a small initial opening, high port velocity, but low velocity through the carb. I can only think that high intake velocity through the carb matters, and through the port is irrelevant.
Anyone got any theories?

Wish me luck pics. Lol. The exhaust is roughly 65% width. But here's where abouts she's sitting 110/125/ 85 on intake low point and roughly 73 on the main intake. 20160115_161723.jpg
