They are a funny animal .Some would shake the teeth right out of your head and some were rather smooth .I could never figure it out .
I've got several,a few righties a few lefties and one of the last ever made .That one was given to me by a trimmer who I doubt put an hour of run time on it and came with a McCulloch branded chain I don't think was ever filed .It's a shelf queen .

McCulloch was pretty good about not leaving any room on the plate. He made them pretty well maxed out from the factory. Get yourself into an iron bore 10 series, they have a pretty interesting swept transfers. 6 of them!

If memory serves the iron bores have a full skirt windowed piston .The transfers in effect the way they are timed create an interesting sweep effect .Taking all that into account the 10 series was pretty advanced thinking even with the bearings in the piston which was just plain stupid .That's the weak link .

The super 6-10 used a later thin steel ring non- full skirt piston as well as the early rhs 7-10 with iron bore. I believe the full skirt was used on the 54cc engines for ballance. both engines used the same crankshaft.
