Pretty questionable I would say.
What about the rod?

Probably a no go.Here is a pic. I can sand it smooth, but not sure about the clearances.View attachment 173734
Probably a no go.
I sent a message to an old contact to see if I can help with parts. I'll let you know if I come up with anything.
Thank you both for checking into it for me.I may have some of those roller bearings, it will be about a week and a half before I can get my hands on them.
Welp... I got a big fat no from that guy. Was the fella that I got my 3-25's from.Thank you both for checking into it for me.
There is an old theory that it takes fuel to make power .It has to get out before it can get in and it can't get in with a little carb
I think I might be getting a different block, and would have to change the rod and piston anyways. Once I know for sure what block I'm going with, then I think the rest won't be to bad to track down. Thank you for checking DJ. You do anything with the 3-25's yet?Welp... I got a big fat no from that guy. Was the fella that I got my 3-25's from.

My mention of the Wiseco high comp piston was in reference to my bud Louie and a conversation years ago of setting the transfer port heights .I've never seen any either but keep in mind a number of companies made parts for these things .That was in the 70's when my beard was the color of coal not snow .
For that matter there were full circle over stroke cranks and Horstman style rods but my goodness the amount of work it would take to adapt these even if you could find them .
Wiseco would make you any piston you want but you have to order maybe a dozen and damned they would be expensive .That leaves me out of the game .
Lol I completely understand that. I think my someday pile might start leaving soon though.Hahaha....NO! Lol
They're in the someday pile like everything else.
I'll get to all of em just gotta be in the right mood.Lol I completely understand that. I think my someday pile might start leaving soon though.
fixedI'll get to all of em just gotta live to be 90.
The steel bore saws are pretty easy to get pistons for, but the chrome plated ones not so much.Looks like there’s enough interest for a group of guys here to do a Wiseco group buy on Stock retro pistons? Wouldn’t that solve the issue?

Yeah I couldn't agree with you more on that. I don't know much if anymore then you lol. Just getting good help from folk's here on the site. I talked to Mark H, and he think's that he might have 1 piston in his stash.Someone has to know the numbers of each model & type originally manufactured by McCulloch: looks to me like a review of the quantities should dictate what would be more desirable.
There is a lot of attention on these saws & something like a piston shouldn’t be so hard to source, for so many people.
Y’all know much more than me however.
