Good evening fellers.

I told someone that I would post some pics of disassembly of this saw. It's pretty simple after you have done a few......but that first one is sort of a pain in the ass.

Here goes.....

It's easier to pull the jug with the carb box still attached, so you'll need to disconnect the kill switch wiring at the coil.


It takes a T9 torx to unhook that connection.



You'll also need the air injection manifold removed. I just pull the coil, and that off at the same time.

Now.......this air filter base just snaps on......and you have to pull pretty hard.

These two screws hold the carb box......get em outta there.

Gotta get this upper AV spring off. Two screws thru the handlebar, and one in the jug.

Next you gotta pop the carb support loose from the case.....

To access the jug bolt on the OE, you need to pull the air shutter out......

Then remove the handle molding.......it unsnaps here.

Now you can unhook the throttle rod.

Now it's just a simple matter of pulling the four jug bolts and lifting the whole assembly off. Just remember to crack the fuel cap before you disconnect the fuel line from the tank under the carb floor.

Now.......pull the carb, and disassemble the intake tract.

Here's something to remember on the NE version. The partition between the jug and the carb is made in a way that makes it impossible to work around it to get at the back two jug bolts........so they gave us a way to go thru it.

Ex: 100°
Transfers: Mains: 130° Secondaries: 128°
In: 71°

OE Stock Numbers:

Ex: 103°
Transfers: Mains: 130° Secondaries: 127°
In: 71°

The NE also has a redesigned combustion chamber.
