I had a stock 064 and 650 the 064 ran stronger. Ported??

I'm gonna say the 064 would carry a long bar better.....even after port work on both.

The exhaust and the intake both have a shorter duration....

Does the shorter duration help keep the torque in the proper range?

Too much duration raises the powerband higher than is realistic. In other words, loading the saw pulls it down and out of it. With a shorter bar.......not so much.

Are the numbers on the 064 jugs consistent throughout production?

Better than the 066......but not completely.

I am learning the art of porting and see this slot cut bypassing the factory transfers on a lot of Pro jobs.

For educational purpose, why bypass the transfers like that?

I see it points to the intake side so I assume it is to help push more burnt charge out and give a better clean fresh charge for the next bang?

I don't have 518. I have motoseal. It's what I use on a base gasket delete
