Refreshing to see something different! Thanks for sharing, Randy.

The saw looks stout and utilitarian. I will be interested to hear your assessment of the handling/antivibe, as well as performance with a big bar in big wood.

Im curious myself just how this compares to the 665 solos with 7910 top ends....
Im gonna guess not quite as fast but maybe torquier. Im liking this echo except for two things the size and weight. Its still pretty cool and that oil override is sweet
Thanks Randy cool thread!!!!

Not sure what one of those Solo 665 hybrids weighs but I think the Echo is at least 1.5 lbs. heavier than a 7910. Course, if Randy can make the 800p run like a 661 or a 390xp, it will make the weight a little more tolerable.

Interesting to look at the cost and "ready to cut" weight (no bar) between these saws:

cs800p: PHO: 16 lb, 8 oz......Fuel: 28.9 oz.....Oil: 14.1 oz......TTL: 19.18 lb.....MSRP: $829.99

390xp: PHO: 16 lb, 6.8 oz.....Fuel: 30.43 oz...Oil: 16.91 oz....TTL: 19.38 lb.....MSRP: $1,120.00

ms661: PHO: 16 lb, 11.2 oz....Fuel: 27.9 oz.....Oil: 12.2 oz..... TTL: 19.20 lb.....MSRP: $1,289.95

Edit: Don't flame me. I'm not saying the 800p is in the same category as the other saws. Just making the point that, at a certain price point, there MAY be potential.
