Makita's most recent/final models- any known issues?

On occasion I've read some claims on the 'net that one of the Makita gas chainsaws, the ea5000pr if memory serves me, has/had some fuel/carb issues or something like that.

I know Makita is no longer making gas saws, but I like what I like!

Do any of the following Makita saws have any known issues?

In addition, I also like the Echo 501p, 620p, and 7310p. I own an almost new 620p and it's been a great saw, but I ponder how these three Echos compare to those five Makitas in my post above- from the perspectives of reliability, durability, power to weight ratio, performance in both stock and modded form, etc.

I'm a newb to both usage and collecting, so I'm enthusiastic!

Besides giving me the vapors, they can have torn intake boots from yanking on a pinched saw. The 6421+ size oilers can leak from the hose attached. The small ones from Asia and all the Echo's have soft cylinders(beer cans and lawn chairs) and score through the plating very easily when any type of event occurs.
@Red97 is a big Echo guy and could probably have some feedback for you.

They are all Dolmar rebrands, so anything that applies to the Dolmar version would apply to the Makita version. As I remember:

EA4300 : Dolmar 431
EA5000 : Dolmar 510
EA6100 : Dolmar 6100
EA7900 : Dolmar 7910

No inherent issues that I’m aware of. The plating is thin on the smaller saws. Good oil and lots of it will take care of it

620’s a rippah!!! Even a 590 with a open muffler is impressive esp when you figure what they can be bought for.

Pretty sure only the plastic sub-40cc consumer saws were ever Chicom, and not all of them were. The 4300 and 5000 should be German made, although some individual parts are not.

All echos score easily? Hmm…learn something new every day.

Yep, news to me! Most of my fleet is Echo and some well over 10 years old and purchased used with unknown hours. 'Course I'm obsessive about my fuel mix and air filters tho.

4300 is assembled in China, but from all the same German parts as the Germany assembled saws. The 5000 is all German, from what I know.

My 4300 is German, but I believe it was an early model.
