If I'd have known what I was getting into with this "Barn Find" 034 I would have left it in the Barn!

The piston was not fried, but I did not like how it looked, so I ordered a new one. Then start taking it down and see the oiler is gone, and it needs one of those "tube" kits, then it fails vac test and the seal is bad, and the bearing also!

On top of that I discover it has the chain adjuster out the front, and it can not be converted to the side!

I split the case and did bearings & seals, then it went in the shed for the rest of the winter when I got other saws to work on that were higher priority (like my 066 I cleaned up and got running).

I will likely finish it eventually, but it will likely never be worth what I got into it, not counting my time. But it was a learning experience, 1st case I split, and I made the splitter.

The dirt on this one was so heavy it masked broken plastics, and it just does not clean up like that filthy 066 did, seems to just have permanent stains.

Pic of case splitter please?

Post a pic of the saw somebody might have a carb.
If it's not oiling properly on those saws there is a little duckbill valve in the oil tank at the end of the hose if it is not there the saw will smoke because it's pulling bar oil in im trying to remember the oiler setup it's been awhile since i fixed one.

Yes, and the little duck bill valve goes onto a sintered fitting that goes into the line with a little exposed in between to bleed the pressure off when the saw is stopped so it quits oiling and doesn't leave a puddle of oil. Another little duck bill valve can also be in the fuel tank as a vent. They're both usually toast by now unless they've been replaced.

The other one is even more simple there is just one fitting on the crankcase to provide pressure to the top of the tank and the oil line goes straight from the tank to the bar mount.
