Built a saw with a 52mm Huztl top end back in 2014 and its still running strong today. Is that the norm?? Don't know. It just is what it is. I posted a video somewhere of it being used to drop trees. Page 12?? But some of those things last and last...some are junk. BUT to any adrenalin junky.....thats the fun right?

I thought the reason we were all here was because we can bring saws back from the dead.
I've been gone a few days, are we just assembling Chinese parts saws now?

I do it for the fun of it honestly, I like all my saws but I rarely use them, it is the time building them that I enjoy, hunting down that elusive part, thus 066 I picked up is going to be the most fun, I am building it for ME and my tastes, I want to build it as cheap and correct as I can.

Not sure about your set up, but the others require a sintered fitting and duck bill valve to keep from sucking oil from the tank.
Edit: This goes on the end of the pressure line at the top of the tank with a little bit of the fitting exposed so it will bleed off pressure when the saw is shut off.

Did someone say cleaning up an 066??? I don't think it had run in years, and I was kinda shocked I didn't even have to rebuild the carb! Just basically a good clean up, changed the fuel, fuel & air filters, and plug and she started. Then I modded the muff and removed the carb limiters and she pulled very nicely.

Looked like the piston almost fried, but the rings were free and compression is strong so I just left it alone!

I'll be bringing her to the NY & CT GTGs if anyone want to see what she's like. Not real fast, but lots of torque.

This one was junk! Buddy that I mentioned is a Toro rep brought it over when I was rebuilding his 066 said here's a parts saw! I think I used the dogs off of it! The piston was toast but the cylinder cleaned up. Case got powder and new bearings. Will still need some smalls but I'll probably have less than $150 into it. Got a Cross MMWS cylinder to try out on it!
