Snagged one for a friend off craigslist a couple weeks ago. $40, a thorough cleaning, and a good 'ol chain sharpening, fresh mix, and put into service. View attachment 60786
I had a pretty nice 625II I picked up for 25. with a scorched top end, did a 272 top end swap, yep, it was a runner, reluctantly sold it......:(

So did some horse trading and got a long block 361, tree had taken all the plastics, tank and handle bar and muffler out.
So decided to try some farmer tec parts. So$38 later. No problem with the aftermarket parts, I did use the original master control bar.

Got this one for $10, plus a $30 clutch cover. It's a good runner too.

Umm... let's see...

Free... left to me by a late friend. I picked it up and fixed it for him. He barely used it before unexpectedly passing and his widow sent it back to me... note said it was verbally willed to me by her husband unbenounced to me...

Got this 6100 off eBay for $180. Was like brand new except for a bar stud that wasn't inserted into the case all the way that tilted the bar and was making the chain toss off. Minty otherwise!

Freebie 2100cd. Lightly scored piston and some broken bits. It's now living with a husky lover...

I've played the "Dead Saw Salvage" game for years for fun...I have 562 as well....did a vids on it, as well as the first Chinese AM 372 build I did a few years back. A 254, 55, 576, now doing 390's. The 372 worked on the farm for 2 years..retired it this year. The 254 sits under a pile of snow in the tractor....its the "saw on the tractor". The 390's will compete with the 660's for a place....may the best saw win! The 562 rides in the pickup as the general farm saw.

The $100 dollar 372 vs. a low hour bought new by me 365 with a new OEM 372xpw top end. A $750 dollar saw all said and done, almost 800 when the plastic to bring to true hitop 372 is figured in...

The "$100" dollar saw was a carcass bought for $50 bucks blended with a 52mm AM top end...$50 bucks...SO $100 vs. $750....

A few 'Dead Saw Salvage" saws...and one low hour one bought by me, hardly ever used..:) EVERY one could be replicated for under $400, most for under $300. I may actually have 2 bills in each of those, less in some cases. These are mostly OEM builds. One AM top end is all, rest OEM

First cheap AM 372 going to work.....the cases came from a pile Spike60 had, slapped AM plastic & top end on it..thats it. No bearings, seals, nothing. LOL Its still running. I may have had an actual $125 bucks in it, easily replicated for under $300...:)

Got this old 066 for free today, good tank, nice cases and the crank is good, think it is a good start for a builder, soon as I get that 288xp built onto this 1.
