The 8t was made by mother Stihl, then discontinued (NLA). I have one that I bought at the end of production, and it makes my saws feel boggy. I just prefer the 7 to keep the saws up in the higher RPM's.

Sorry, I just don't see 50cc saws as torquers... Screamers? Yes. Torquers? No.

My 346 loves the 8t limbing. More chain speed

Another thought: I have my 241 running a 6t spur. Partly because I don't want to cough up the $ for the 7t rim system, but mostly because 43 cc saws need even more RPM (in my book) than their 50 cc brothers

I hear ya' but.... There is no advantage in 2" wood. There just can't be; maybe a nano second. Eventually you have to buck what you limb, and I can pry down ANY picco worthy saw with an 8. I can pry down a 7 too, just not as soon. I don't want to argue. Just ease your mind that you give up almost nothing running Picco 7t

Just to show why I will have this setup. This is my 026 which Al built for me, running the 7t setup. He says an 8t will rip even more, and I know he's right.
