Does this also help with work chains?
I think that is easy to remove on a new chain, and you can have this adventage the hole life of the chain...

On a work chain you could use skip or semi skip.

That's lookin' real nice! Glad to hear it isn't too hateful to file. Feedback I've heard is it's somewhere between Still and Oregon lgx as to hardness.

Straighten them rakers up a bit then
Clipping the heels helps too as mike said. Espeacially if the bar is buried

What does clip the heels mean and would it make a difference on round filed chain. Haven't made the jump to try square yet but I should try it.

The back or rear of the cutter gets cut down. Really for race chain only. For "go fast" chains.

It makes bore cutting a lot smoother as well.

I've filed a few which came in at about mid time when tested .Not the best not the worst .Then again they were all tested by me before shipping off on hardwood,mainly oak because I have no aspen,poplar or cotton wood to test them on .

So here you can see on the left(not sure why my pic got rotated, I've clipped the heel a bit. Heel just being the back of the cutter.
