Well... they've had a good day!

Birds have been so hot here the last couple weeks, I sure hope it doesn't turn sour before the season opens.

All winter I fed a flock of about forty birds. Have also been seeing a group of Toms roaming around.
For the past two weeks, all I see are single hens, no groups of birds and no Toms.
Our season opened yesterday. I haven't heard a single gobble or a shot.
It hasn't been unseasonably warm. I don't know what's going on.
Supposed to be warmer this week, I hope things turn around. If not, my Turkey might come from Butterball.

Give them time. It's been cool and damp here and they're off to a bit of a slow start. They'll get going. Of course once they do the big boys may hen up pretty quick.

It sure seems that way. There is a flock hanging out near the end of my driveway recently.

What happened to this thread? Surely others have found Turkey's with lead poisoning this year, or in my case tungsten.
This was back on opening day here in VA. Had to really work and be patient for him. He and his buddy circled half a sod field while I had 3 live hens hanging out 10 feet from the blind with my decoys.

They've been pretty thick here. I haven't got into it this time around, maybe in the fall I will. My wife lets me take as much time as I want for deer hunting and I don't want to push it!

You have to keep pushing for more man. If not how do you know where your limit is, heck you maybe able to take all deer season and half of turkey season. LOL
