So your saying the 441's are runners worked. Aint they a tad fat and overweight compared to a 440? IDK I heard this I own 440's not a 441?

Wolfie,
Im parsing together a 441 from a few buckets of spit I acquired a while ago. I tried a while back and gave up. I pulled quite a few hairs out on my first few 261/362 but nothing like a 441. I swear it's not a Stihl at all. Keep in mind all of this with manuals and IPLs too. The throttle cable linkage hookup is overwhelming at first. The layers of crap holding the carb on is frustrating too...
If I ever get this one running you can have it for a while to play with.( If I don't just gunpowder the darn thing first)

The 441 I was recently playing with felt more like a 455 rancher....but more complex and bulky in a way

Well thanks , I was toying with the idea of selling one of my 440's but now I wont. Who needs all that complicated crap to slow you down.

OK what improvements do you recommend and still not add weight?
Ya gotta ditch the EPA choked muffler or modify the one you have.
I usually enlarge the stock outlet to about 7/8" and add a dual port cover or a side outlet.
