That saw will pull a 24" bar with 3/8 chain resprctably. Not many 50cc saws can make such claims, but I've seen it done.

I just sold one in good running condition with good compression and we must have different thoughts on what will pull a 24” bar because I’d never even had attempted it on the one I just sold. Had a 20 .325 and that was enough

There used to be quite a few 49sp Jonsereds in this area with 24" bars. The tree thinning crews used them so they wouldn't have to bend over quite as much. I bought one some years back at a second hand store and liked the 24" bar very much on that saw. I ran 3/8" pitch full skip and it handled it nicely.

If the saw needs full skip to pull it then it’s probably unpowered for the bar. Full and semi skip were designed for chip clearance in large wood not so you and put a 24” bar on a 50cc saw but like I said to each there own. Yes I can see the long bar for not bending over and I may work ok in that respect but soon as you burry the bar it’s going to be less than impressive so you go to skip to keep from dragging the saw down which will work but then cutting branches and small wood you need to use skip which I personally think sucks because it vibrates and is jumpy in small wood. So worst in both worlds for me I’ll stick with full comp on 65 cc plus saws with a 24-28”. Just personal choice just like I can’t stand wrap handles but some love them.

If your cutting tensioned wood that may snap back a bit, the longer bar adds a measure of safety.

Just snagged a new old stock 625,630,670 full wrap handle. Didn't think this type of thing existed. Any idea on the value of such a thing?

I changed the trigger unit (under the flywheel) with one from a 70E and now I have spark. I used a McCulloch recoil spring and have the starter back to snuff. This saw just may live again.
