Someone brought in a late model 70E for a good going over this week. I was reminded of the differences between the early and late models while working on this one.

Late model, chip and coil. The chip is actually located in the air box, but I took the photo here as a reminder.





Early versions had the goods under the flywheel, and had the plastic fins on the flywheels.





I think I like the later models better.

In any case, the saw this week is back in operation.
