Nice job Jim. That 70 sure seems to rev a good deal quicker than it did stock. Now that saw will sure beat my 700. Oh he'll, does that mean I need to bring you my 700 :jaja-no:.

70E's and even the smaller 56cc 621 came with 8 tooth stock.

Pretty sure they both wore no longer than a 20" bar from the dealer. That 24" might really take some leaning-into with a 7pin, especially seeing how ballsy it was with the 8pin.

A very serious machine...... :D

That's a good start, but if you want to change to that newer ignition you will still need a cylinder. The early ones don't have the coil mount on them. Also, if looking for a plastic fan, remember a 621 fan will work; they are a bit more common.

I never knew there were 621's with plastic fans.

No, they're aluminum but they still work on the early 70. I think I ended up using the ignition unit from the 621 also; it's been a while!

Hello Gents,
Could youhelp to me in this chainsaw repairing?
I have a 36 years old one an now the ignition module has broken. Where can I get a new one or a useable one. Or do you have idea for repairing? It is an electrical one but it has ful filled with plastic.
Any idea or drawing or photos what is inside or what is the position for it?
