http://m.ebay.com/itm/Jonsered-70E-...wheel-1216610104-CDI-/172386145046?nav=SEARCHHmmm. I have a nice 70e that has been sitting because of a grenaded fan...when it grenaded, it also took out the coil wire. May have to get the flywheel with cool.... thanks!
That's a good start, but if you want to change to that newer ignition you will still need a cylinder. The early ones don't have the coil mount on them. Also, if looking for a plastic fan, remember a 621 fan will work; they are a bit more common.Hmmm. About three fourths or a bit more. What percent of the ring leaves it Allen?
The 268 piston has longer skirts, so you can go a bit farther before freeporting. It also has wider skirts and a single ring gapped above the intake.I have the squish cut and after careful measuring it appears no part of the ring will leave the plating. I took it as far as it will go before it freeports under the piston.
The factory squish with the stock piston was .040; after cutting the squish it will be around .020 so the compression should be good. View attachment 41078 View attachment 41079
But the owner of this 70E really wants a 2-ring piston. I also have it on good authority that he loves real Jonsereds, likes Stihl a lot, fully appreciates old Macs and Homies, and has a general aversion to anything Husqy.
A'yup......I recognize quite a few guide bars that I see on the forums.
