The throttle worked before I took it apart to clean the carb. Now it only works if I hold the carb up so there's more tension. It also works without the carburetor in the bay. Is there an adjustment or something I need to do? It's linked how it was before removal.1000000717.jpg

Does the throttle cable go into the lower portion of the carb plate? Which way does that plate rotate (from the position it is in the picture), clock wise for more throttle or counter clockwise?

Id think it rotates CCW with the idle screw the way it is but that's just a guess ...

I'm not certain about the first thing, I could try.
Counter clockwise.
Yeah, I have had some carbs I have taken apart and when I go to put it back together, it went back different than I remembered (I have started taking pictures of tear downs).

I have not seen that saw before, but looking at the IPL, I am guessing the trigger pushes on the cable, if the cable was connected to the lower section, then it would push against the plate causing it to rotate counter-clockwise. That would be my guess. You might also take the handle apart and make sure the cable didn't slip out of its channel, if it has, then it might be giving you the slack you are wanting to take up.

I took the handle apart earlier and it became a disaster although at first the inside of the handle appeared to be functioning fine. I'll put it back together using that diagram. I also take pictures of projects, just not enough pictures lol.

I found a couple of views from videos, I think you were in the right place:

In the three videos I watched, they all had issues getting it back on correctly. I think the throttle cable goes opposite what I thought in post #8, which would then pull on the throttle plate causing it to move counter clockwise.
