Boxers? Briefs? Commando?
All of the above depending on mood.
Boxers? Briefs? Commando?
So...I widen the exhaust port where it meets the muffler quite a bit. Then blend it back into the port. Then match the muffler, heat shield, and gasket to the jug.
Does that help make it run better, or am I wasting my time?
The guys that leave it sitting on the shelf won’t know the differenceSo...I widen the exhaust port where it meets the muffler quite a bit. Then blend it back into the port. Then match the muffler, heat shield, and gasket to the jug.

Making room for expansion of hot gases exiting the cylinderHow about an answer from a plumber?
If there is no restriction from the cylinder to the muffler what is the benefit?
A little polishing for purtyness and good to go?

Someone probably has a % number in their head. But I’ve never heard it. Same with intake tunnel vs port sizeI'll rephrase...
If the opening from the cylinder to the back of the muffler is already getting larger, is there a way to determine if more opening is needed?
Is there maths available to determine how much expansion will happen at highest operating temp?
exactlyMethed up is weth Virginia slang for messed up.
Right Dally ?
a buddy of mine is bottle feeding one that is a twin and the mother wouldnt take care of so it will be in his freezer next yearI should be further along on these 462s....but I ported a 660, and a 066 jug this morning.

AND.....
We had a set of twins born yesterday. The cow only wanted to take one of them.....so Glenda and I have spent some time tricking her into taking care of both of them.

The 462 is just a well refined, lightweight machine. It's not a saw that will ever be a contender for the one cut competition in big wood. Not without some serious re-engineering. Personally.....I love the 462. It checks all the boxes for me.

We won't be using gas-powered saws in 40 years. The government will have 'em all locked up, along with our guns and breast pumps.
exactly

the cow belongs to his wifes uncle and was given to him for his sons to raise
Pics of the boxes please
Oh I’m not buying that I have read between the lines and I believe it’s not ported but not exactly stock either. My un-ported 044 embarrassed some 066/660s! I'm sure some of it was in the chain, but the cocky pro with the 066 thought his strong power head would dominate the cutting. It didn't!
I've not seen Gary around in a hundred years.
I have read between the lines
Gary got re-married and they moved and bought a bigger house and stuff. He's all domesticated now and doing great.
