Intake block on a 3 cube?

JB weld is cheaper and easier to get into place. Devcon is good but thicker and has to be pushed more where you want it to go.

Pipe the appropriate size, rubber hose/or old manifold boot, clamps, and a flange welded onto the pipe to fit your new bigger carb.

Does anyone think of the resosnant impacts when modding saw intakes. Is a tuned intake somthing worth worring about? The formulas and math are readily availible, size is a factor with a saw l know. A properly tuned intake can give a nice boost in power, but it seems with saws we all think within the square and rarely step outside.

It would. It would add a good bit of volume to the case. I could see major value on a pipe saw where a guy could pump and make use of all that volume. Would have to be a custom reed block so it was small enough to be packaged on a saw.

If you're building an intake why not a small reed block. It would give plenty of options for carbs and keep it from spitting back through the carb as much.

Mmmm........All that unused room in the handle or somewhere else.....it could work on a saw but, like a pipe its tricky to do well.

It appears not on all position OPE carbs, they get the shyte shacken out of them when in operation.

If done properly it should work with with no negative affects. That is what is so great on modifying with such work. There is no right or wrong way, you can either make it work and if it don't you redo, even if it means starting over.

Tuned intakes are possible, most try to fit modified improvements under factory covers. Fitting every thing in place and having it functions is the challenge. Unlike the bike world where you have the whole frame to mount, secure modifications.
