Well then, maybe someone tried to modify this piston and went too far on the intake, causing it to rock in the bore and ruining it. Anyway, it’s fixed now, and I’m done worrying over it.

Good morning all... I finally found some time to dig around in my pioneer boxes! I have a P41HP on the bench with a cracked intake block. Anyone have a spare?

Secondly I seem to have an 3-4x spare cylinders (one almost new) in the tubs of parts but the coil mounting location on all of them is for blue prestolite coils and not the current black coil. I’m assuming pioneer redesigned for coils that don’t fail like the blue presto’s?

Tried to post photos but I’m not a vip anymore and wouldn’t let me post singles.

Have pioneer stuff for trade. Might have a few spare SDC85 carbs and nos clutch covers...

Is an IEL ab worth buying? I have opportunity to buy 2 of them in good shape and both turn over. About 90% sure they’re ab “pioneer” saws by photos

They're pretty cool old saws - heavy and slow, but a lot of collectors like them. I wouldn't pay a lot for one.

They were one of the very early chainsaws, gravity fed float regulated carb so that necessitated the fuel tank had to stay positioned above the carb so the entire fuel delivery system stayed vertical and the engine and bar could rotate horizontal for felling cuts. I like them for those reasons as it shows how the early saws progressed toward the all position carb setups.

Here is a Pioneer 800 I recently picked up. It was located in the big timber country of Western Australia and I am looking forward to unboxing the saw when I get back from my current work assignment. The 800's are not a common saw anywhere, so I am pleased to grab this one.IMG_1813.JPG IMG_1817.JPG IMG_1818.JPG

That's a great find Chris, Gotta love them big ole Pioneers. I have 2 of the 800's and 2 IEL JC's
Thanks Lee. I really like this style of IEL/Pioneer saw, starting from the JA through to the 800

Picked up this HM a while back. I replaced the condenser, carburetor diaphragms, and made up a new fuel line to make it a runner.
