Only thing I could think of is sliver off a spark plug thread but could imagine aluminum threads would shave off steel threads

Never saw a problem running. Saw was running fine and was warmed up before it got in the wood. I ran three saws that day and went through nearly two gallons of mix. Checked the other two and they are fine.
