That would be for a 372xp, real popular around here nowadays.
Old Homelites are pretty neat old saws too, and even more durable. XL102 Automatic, call it my li'l hot rod saw.

I have only a very few customers with 70+ cc saws and they tend to be tree surgeons . I take care of a few 560 xp 's , a o84 and a 38 supper but most are 30-50cc bracket along with mowers ,trimmers and the other horticultural sort of stuff. Shows you the difference in the market over here with the 50cc saw the most popular size. You noticed how "anti tamper Torx fixings " are creeping in on the 500 group Husqvarna saws.

Yes 70 cc saws with the Pro crowd, tree care, land clearing, and landscape professionals. When the firewood saws come around, it could be anything, mostly though I would have to say one of the more popular ones would be the 036, MS360. The 60cc class seems to be the most popular here. while the newer stuff is coming in at a turtles pace. Folks just can't justify the money of a new saw. The times we live in I guess. There's guy's still running saws from the 1970's and 80's lots of old McCulloch's still barking and spitting chips, 10-10's abound even a mini mac or two. An occasional Homelite, old Jonsered into the mix, Stihls are thick as wood ticks. Husqvarna's are the new kid on the block, and are coming on more and more.
New goal for myself is studying the new breed of saws, seems like you can take the old book on what goes on and throw it right out. For now the ones that come in are just maintenance issues so no big learning curve. I think when it comes time to diagnose running problems a fella is going to really take a hard look inside these saws, pistons, rings, bearings as a regular habit not the exception to the rule.

Im not in what you could call "Logging Country" and the numbers involved in the timber industry are far smaller. Plenty of domestic users and farmers who need a saw for general tasks. I tend to see a spread of Husq and Stihl due to Agri dealers selling saws of both makes in there outlets. We have far less of the sort of outfits you have in the US , most are a combination of product like the Agri dealerships and the outfits that specialise in saws are far and few between.
Same here with the modern husq /stihls Steve....im no expert for sure and feel my way around them but have worked on the 560 a bit now.
You may know I have some of the new and old Dolmars ...Have bought the 420..5105 and 6100 to get to know them as well as using for my own timber.
Was thinking about tooling that works well across the brands...vac/pressure kit. There so similar if you go OEM and i swear the Stihl and Dolmar one is the same by the look in the book. I have a ok one but i think a Mityvac 8500 is on the cards for 2017.

This a very localized phenomenon for sure go 15 minutes in any direction the whole business changes.
The pressure vac tool can get spendy in a hurry. I've got kind of a knock off one but works well. I think Techumseh has or had a good one, seems I remember that. Lots of people using the Mityvac. You can still buy the different block off plates and such from the different manufactures.

This is the one I have, Powerbuilt brand. Probably find it on E-bay. Not necessarily an endorsement, just what I have.

If you can find these at the right price they work real good. They are branded for other makes ... the refresh is fast. The lead comes in handy on the mowers when the plug is out of reach to point the unit at.

This one may be interesting to study, IPL service tools 2014.

I plan to order service tool # 502 50 30 23 for 550 and # 18 for 346 since they are the most sold saws around here (there is a few other Huskies that I refuse to see/get).
Already have #10 and 07 who is for 254/262 and 242.

Yes.
I could survived without 346 and 550 crank mounting tool, freezer and correct heat have worked good, but on long run those tools will pay themself down, they ruffly cost the same as one PTO bearing.
You just use heat to pop in the bearings into the case then pull the crank in cold with the tool ?

agree, after I got my first set #10 I was doomed!

yes Simon.
Some of those Huskies doesnt need those sets while others are so special that the tools make it far more easier or safer.
Special those saws with crankstuffer or PTO bearings like 242 and 346/550 where the heat is limited is where the tools pay off.

I'm an old guy, so I tend to like things that are old school. Not saying this is a better unit, just a better one for me. I tend to frustrate when digital numbers flash all over the place, or worse things that go beep. So when I saw this one, I knew right away it was the one for me.

Yes, just place the little antenna near the spark plug wire and push the switch to "on", and away it goes. Works on 4-strokes as well, only one cylinder though. Not sure as to the how of it, was able to set the governor speed of a Tecumseh generator, so it does work on both style of motor. SS

I have a different PET model (PET2000DX), that I once bought from a US based Dolmar dealer in 2006 - works very well indeed. :)
