Very simple to work on and they are nice saws, 2 series huskies and the jonsreds in that style like the 625/630 and 670The 2 series saws are my favorite saws.
Yep. I've built about a dozen of the 162 type now. They're all built like tanks. And building them feels like playing with legos. The commonality of parts is pretty cool.Very simple to work on and they are nice saws, 2 series huskies and the jonsreds in that style like the 625/630 and 670

I’d like to have a conversation with you about the 262xp some time.
He has mine now, excited for this one!And a 262xp that I need to send to Mastermind
What are some pros of the 2 series over the 3? I don't care about the new-fangled 5 series, but feel free to include them.Nice saws. The 2 series are my favorite saws.
I have a 272 and a 2100 and they were rode hard and beat to shi....pieces by the time I got them (both were dump finds). Split both cases and rebuilt them with new bearings and seals and whatever other parts they were missing and they fired right up and are quite durable. Easy to work on, and I feel the 272 is well balanced. I have a lot of coworkers that like the 372s and I have worked on several, but would rather have my 272.What are some pros of the 2 series over the 3? 2 series saws were ahead of their time. Stihl was still building horizontal cylinder units, and Husqvarna was making bad ass, tough as nails powerhouses. Some 3 series saws are great too. But their real glory days were when the 262XP was being draw up.What are some pros of the 2 series over the 3? I don't care about the new-fangled 5 series, but feel free to include them.
As Willard, said the 162,& 181 were revolutionary.2 series saws were ahead of their time. What are the advantages and disadvantages of horizontal saws?
