Local guy brought in a 181SE today, we replaced the crankshaft seals and put most of the saw together. He is in need of a starter pawl, spring, and a clutch or at least one spring for the clutch.

He doesn't have a lot to spend...and the saw likely won't get used but he'd like to have it run able.

I did some one line searching and it looks like I can get a new clutch for around $55 + shipping, starter pawl & spring for $8 - $10 each + shipping. Other suggestions?

Mark

P.S. same guy as post 3,036...
I am not a husky expert but I think 181 clutch and starter pawl is the same as 394/395. I think I might have an extra pawl and I have a roasted clutch that the springs may be salvageable on i can check if someone doesn't have a better option kicking around

Does it need a whole new clutch (will it clean up? surface beyond use?), if he just needs springs, here is an option on e-Bay:

Clutch / Tension Spring for HUSQVARNA Models [#503145101] $2.60 ea - DLA Engine Parts

The company is in Greece, I have ordered directly from them, they were the only ones I could find Stihl 055 oil seals at a reasonable price. I bought two seals and paid for shipping and it was cheaper than buying one seal stateside. Parts came within two weeks from Greece and were well packaged.

I have done business with DLA before, even quite recently. I may go ahead and put together an order with them as they have some other items I'm interested in. Need to get enough on an order to help spread the shipping cost. Thanks for pointing that out.

I saved my pennies and got one of these kits, my 034 was together before I realized it and I didn't have to heat or cool any part. Just took my time and everything went together. I have several other saws that I will be using it on in the near future, can't wait to use them again.

he even made me a semi-custom adapter for the Shindaiwa 757.

I have located everything we need for the 181 except for the starter pawl (501673201). If anyone has one to spare please let me know.

Mark
I’ll check, I have a few different ones.
Just the pawl or the complete assembly?
Pawl, spacer, spring, bolt

The broken pawl is still on the saw, he has the spring. I believe, if the fastener is still in place the spacer must still be there.

Ok, worst case I have several loaded flywheels :p
Spacer May be cracked or broken, however, so I would pull it and find out.

I've had a lot of saws across the bench recently, and have this left over. I'm sure there is one in place on whatever saw it came from but I'd like to to know where it came from so I can put it away and then find it again one day when I need it. I thought it came from one of the Jonsereds saws but no one in that thread has come up with an answer.
