Has anyone tried to fit a newer handle bar from a saw to fit the 288? I'm looking for a full wrap for mine and was wondering if I could force fit one from something like a 395 to it. Any advice would be appreciated.
Took my 2 big Huskies out for a run today in some Aussie hardwood, as much as love the power and speed of the 3120 the 281 really is such a nice saw to run.

Nice. You guys get all the cool Toyota's down there.
The Toyota Hilux has been the biggest selling vehicle in Australia for many years.
Mine is getting old now (11years) but still performs well.
I know exactly what you mean myGot a Jeep and an F150 that are both 24 years old. The more I look at how much folks are paying for new ones, the more I like the old ones.
While it's apart I'd throw a meteor flat top piston in there. (353 piston)Ok, serious question. I'm working on a Husky 350 for a friend. Didnt want to, but he kinda stuck it in the truck before I could drive off.
Said it would run about 10 minutes and quit. I was thinking coil.
Took the top cover off, and noticed it had the pos plastic intake boot clip. Checked fire. Fire looks good. Wiggled the intake boot. Yep, its loose. Got the compression tester out. 110 psi was best it would blow. Too low, so now its apart. Lots of carbon on top of piston and exhaust port. All cleaned up good. Can still see crosshatching on cylinder walls and no scratches. Checked ring end gap. Its at .015. I know thats too much wear. What should it be?
Should be able to pick up a Caber ring for it. Any advice on which type of ring to go with? Havent bought from them before.
