Has anyone tried to fit a newer handle bar from a saw to fit the 288? I'm looking for a full wrap for mine and was wondering if I could force fit one from something like a 395 to it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Maybe someone could help me out with some bar dimensions? The measurements from side to side and top to bottom would be helpful. If it comes down to it have access to weld aluminum.

Hoping someone throw a tape across their 390 or 394 or 395.

I believe @rattler made this happen.

Ok, serious question. I'm working on a Husky 350 for a friend. Didnt want to, but he kinda stuck it in the truck before I could drive off.
Said it would run about 10 minutes and quit. I was thinking coil.
Took the top cover off, and noticed it had the pos plastic intake boot clip. Checked fire. Fire looks good. Wiggled the intake boot. Yep, its loose. Got the compression tester out. 110 psi was best it would blow. Too low, so now its apart. Lots of carbon on top of piston and exhaust port. All cleaned up good. Can still see crosshatching on cylinder walls and no scratches. Checked ring end gap. Its at .015. I know thats too much wear. What should it be?
Should be able to pick up a Caber ring for it. Any advice on which type of ring to go with? Havent bought from them before.

While it's apart I'd throw a meteor flat top piston in there. (353 piston)

Ok, never bought one before. Just want to make sure I'm getting the right one.
Its for a 353, any other models?

Thanks again for all the info guys. Wolf Creek has it for 32.99 or something like that on Evilbay. Measured old piston at 44.90 mm with my sketchy Horrible freight calipers. Guessing that's good enough for 45 mm. I see there was an old model tjat had a 44 mm. An starts with 05. Maybe year of manufacture?
