Hello everyone, was thinking about getting my 359 cylinder ported. I installed a 47mm meteor kit and its running alright. Im testing out another muffler mod I just got done, had to cut the muffler open first to get the baffle completely out, just couldnt find any am ones without baffle. If I do get the 359 cylinder ported I want to then block up the two smaller holes I made in the muffler and add another bigger outlet to it on the other side. Im trying to save up a little cash here an there as would really like to get a 562xp here soon sometime, but having this 359 ported has always been something Ive wanted. I was curious to know if having a 47mm meteor cylinder ported would run better than a oem 359 ported cylinder...but whats you all's recommendation for getting the 359 cylinder ported?

I think if you have a good OEM 359 cylinder on it already then get it ported. Don't waste money on getting a non-OEM cylinder just for porting. Here is my 2159 ported.

I got my 359 ported by @awol . You'll be impressed with the results.

Big question too you guys with the knowledge of 288 vs 385 390

Will the 385 - 390 wrap handle fit on a 288 with a small amount of fabrication or a little bending thanks in advance

Old stock from a retired chainsaw dealer, these were never given out to customers, they are as new condition.
The pics dont do these brochures justice, the camera on my phone isnt very good.View attachment 72736 View attachment 72737 View attachment 72738 View attachment 72740

Your right that it looks like no ome touched them or they saw the light of day. I work at a print shop and paper we've had in the warehouse will yellow in 2 years time and these are just stunning. Some one spent some bucks on good paper, ink, and coating.

New to this thread so may as well start out big. Is the only difference between the early and later 3120 tanks the size of the tank hole for the fuel line? And what's the common fuel line solution for the older tank since the molded fuel line is NLA? Been doing a bit of reading and haven't come up with anything yet. No grommet listed anywhere that I've found so far, though one from the 50-55 early series may squeeze into the opening to accommodate the 300 curly line or the Stihl straight R3 or R5 line. The 3120 tank has just a slightly smaller opening than the early 50 series.

TIA for any info or enlightenment.

Some of the early 3120's had an adjustable H screw. I'm not sure how long it lasted.

I hear the fixed jet can be drilled and tapped for an 'H' adjustment needle. All I know for sure is they had a larger fuel line opening in the tank for a NLA (OEM) fuel line and no specific alternative solution mentioned in any of the IPLs I've looked at so far...which is most of em. The dealer where I order my Husky parts was clueless. Told him it was an '89 with an early tank and his PartSmart didn't even go back past 1999 for the 3120XP. "You sure they made 3120's in '89?"

Uhhh..., yeah. I have. "No thanks" to that kind of gouging. (But I appreciate you providing the link nonetheless.) Husky is calling for the curly '300' fuel line. There's gotta be a grommet in the mix somewhere that's not being clearly specified. I'm sure as hell not buyin' a new tank just so the freakin' fuel line will fit!

If the opening is slightly smaller can't you open it up a bit to accomidate the larger line?
