OK guys, I'm stripping down the 390 for cleaning, and let me tell you, she's a dirty girl.

Anyway, I found a broken red wire going to the wrap handle, so that's why the front handle wasn't heating, also found a broken red wire under the crankcase where carb is, I've traced every wire and know where everything Is supposed to go.

There's wire goes from ground, to in front of choke plate, choke plate to bottom side of carb, bottom side of carb through a grommet in the crankcase to above fuel tank area. The wire is bare with no end on it and nothing underneath for it to have attached to.

I'm stumped, did they have auto tune in 2010

Here is a page from the IPL. I don't know if the carb heaters connect in series or in parallel with the handles, but I'm guessing all the heating elements connect in parallel so they all see the same voltage. I have a 395xpg in the shop but haven't pulled it apart yet.

carb heaters is connected parallel with the handles.
Thats how it was connected on 346, 357, would be surprised if it was different on the bigger Huskies

So the handles are in series and the the carb heaters are in series but the two are hooked up in parallel? That appears to be how this is. And I figured out why I couldn't find where the wire went. Somebody repaired the stator wire and left out the carb heaters. They only put one wire on the stator wire and left the one for the carbs out in the middle of nowhere.

If anybody has any pictures of the stator wiring in its original form I would love to see them. I think I can fix this yet.

there is nothing about carb heathers in 390 workshop manual, but there is in 385 workshop manual, page 23

If you study the generator wire you will see there is two connections, the one you are looking after is probleby right under the carb floor.

So I was on the Husqvarna site and they have a 390 xp w and 390 xp the w has a full wrap is cheaper and the motor is like .3 cc smaller. Is this real? Or a typo?

New Husky owner here checking in, I picked up a 51 that needed a new P&C so I upgraded it to the 46mm version. Now I just need to source a clutch cover/chain brake assembly and I should have a strong running firewood saw!

P.S. Who are the Husky parts hoarders around here?

I ordered my caber ring as well as intake boot pulse fitting and other miscellaneous parts from them. I'd prefer a used oem clutch cover and brake assembly to complete the saw but if I can't find anything reasonably priced I'll end up going aftermarket.
