EDIT: Prior to posting this below, I tried one more time and I did get this battery out with another pop to the back of the battery while pressing down on the latches. (But they were stuck anyway.) Bad news is I see that the left latch is broken, the latch plastic is severed in two. I don't know if I can use it anymore, I'm a bit afraid to insert it into the saw, fearing it could get stuck again. What do you think? And anyone have any idea if Husqvarna would fix this or give me a new one? This saw has not been used that much and this battery is super expensive, like, $300! It's past warranty, I bought this when they first came out, maybe couple years ago. I bought it from a large online dealer. This is a rear handle saw, I don't climb, I just use it for firewood now and then. I have a number of gas saws.

Original post...
Anyone have a 540iXP? My battery is stuck in the saw, the BLI300 battery. I've tried multiple times and I can't get it out. If anyone has one, can you look inside at the clamp mechanism and see if you can think of a way I could insert anything or whack on it a certain way? FWIW, the buttons on each side of the battery that you press to insert or take out the battery, are stuck pressed down, I cannot get them to release.

You can buy a new plastic shell from Husqvarna.
Wow! Thanks so much, that is the type of info I was hoping for. Anything to not have to scrap it. I was looking at it and also an identical functional battery and wondering if I can superglue the failed latch arm.

EDIT: Yippee, even the clips can be bought! Only $9 for two, that surprises me, nod to Husky for a decent price on a part!

And I found a video on replacing, it looks simple...

And here is the part...

Sure glad I made the post and that you replied!
