I believe 18' is perfect for this saw. At least for eu members.
How much is 400.1 where you live? Is husky more or less?
I was thinking of dressing it with Tsumura Premium Light 20", 28" just for a few rough pines I'll be taking.
I'm not likely to use 15 and 28 much. If it balances perfectly with 20" I might go for 24 instead of 28.

Husqvarna and Stihl try to be roughly the same in terms of price setting, I think the 400.1 is a little cheaper though without checking.

The difference between Stihl and Husqvarna dealers is that two local Husqvarna dealers run 550xpg promotions a couple of times a year, around $750-800 instead of $1000 like most others charge.

There are many who are annoyed by these two (I am a customer of one of them lol), especially those who flip used saws, it is difficult to get $500 for a used mk2 when they are sold for $750 with a 2 and 5 year warranty.

Yes, like since the late 80’s; I think Echo first tried that, although they started with step timing and not fully variable.
I cant say when it started but Im 48 and it was before my time.

Husky's like 20% cheaper here but 564xp will sell around 1500€ while 400.1 is 1300€. It's more in a 500i range -1600€.

Well I just hope they made a reliable saw. There's no husky fans left among loggers
They are not what they once were, if it weren't for the fact that I love the ergonomics of the 242/246/346, I would have switched brand a long time ago.

Fuel injected two strokes were around 30+ years ago. So it was neither "idea".
I Wonder if those fuel injection system are oil type agnostic...?

I reckon Aprilia DiTech & Piaggio PureJet Scooters had initial problems with sludge in injectors....

Sludge.....2stroke oil + moisture from the air....inside the compressor....

Later some manufacturers like Motul, Selenia came with proper formulated oil for them

These were just TBI injection and the systems you are talking about are direct injection schemes.
Im not sure how oil would impact the injector on those advanced systems as the injector handles only fuel. The oil is injected into the crank case separately, so no pre mix

While I'm waiting for the 564xpg to land at my place, I took the time to order the xpg wrap handle and spike kit.

I don't have many with full wrap, a 372 xpg and a 357xp I'm currently building.
Good to know there is an XPG wrap.

Will it have heating elements in the full wrap part of the handle as well as the standard part?

Yup, same style as 562 just another part though, since 564 share about nothing with 562.
Wrap XPG handle is what I ordered + wrap spike kit + outer std spike.

Good to know there is an XPG wrap.
Expensive though, around 200$
