I know nothing of G models, but I believe that you can just unplug the carb heater.

Have never seen a service bulletin regarding the subject and it will be a little "if".

Back in time, when Husqvarna introduced heated carburetor, came on 346 XPG or was it 351G? - The heated carburetor circuit was coupled in parallel with the heated handles, just as they've done on most 5xx XPG's.
There were two generators in the 346/357 era, but, even on the normal XPG without a heated carburettor a generator with a split coupling was used, ie the generator was intended for both systems. This was going on for at least 4 years.
I have never measured any resistance differences on those 346 versions, true to say, I am 99% sure it is the same generator they used on 346/351/353/357/359 is the same generator they're using on 550/560/562 nowadays.

So out of what I think, that is IF my theory is correct, it's just to disable the circuit who head to the heathed carburettor elements.

Ok, I am not electrically smart. Just unplugging it will suffice? Also, is there a schematic for hooking these up? I just took it apart 2 days ago and couldn't even follow it when I did it..

The setup on XPG:

Grounding -> Generator -> front handle -> switch -> rear handle -> grounding.
Grounding -> Generator -> top carb heather -> airfilter heather -> grounding.

As you see, the only heather system you switch on/off is the handle heathers.
The carburettor heather is working permanent.

When you disable the carb heater circuit on 550 you dont plugin the wire who head from the carburettor to the front handle switch.

Simplest thing to do is unplug the carb heater and see if the handle heat still works. Will tell you if they’re wired in series or parallel. Is the plug accessible when the carb is installed? Never had a G model.

I'm still here, had time today before work to put tank and other parts back on saw. Just need to put recoil on, muffler, brake flag, clutch, etc.. this saw is stock with fresh ring, that I will use for baseline cuts.

Ok, haven't been on much lately. Here's where I am at. I've got the case splitted on the 3rd 550xp, I am removing the broken stuffers. This saw I will reassemble with out the stuffers, and mod the same way as the one I modded. Same timing numbers, squish, etc. I will take rpm notes in the cut and timed cuts with same bar and chain. I am waiting on piston from dealer since the stuffer piece traveled up the transfer and wrecked the piston. I will have it running in due time.

Well, I finally got the piston and cylinder kit from my buddy on Saturday. Sunday, my day off, I had to do u joints on the truck. Good time to be a setup machinist in the gear and sprocket industry! U joints took way longer than I planned due to 20 years of Michigan winters. Hope to get a second this week to get some stock timing numbers then machine the base and piston. Then I will have a 550xpg without stuffers to check against a equally modded 550xp with stuffers and a stock one.
