WANTED 038 mag p+c or just cylinder.

Curious if anyone possibly has an 038 magnum jug 52mm they would let go of. Buddy of mine took his saw into the shop and they said the top end is toast. Have yet to verify that it needs replaced but, it would be nice to have one found just in case.

    Piston/Base Gasket/Cylinder Measurements

I would like to start a thread for providing measurements of cylinders, pistons, and gaskets. This is with the intent of seeing what's close of other models and what isn't without spending a lot of money on something that doesn't work. How close to the original measurements should be at the...

    Husqvarna 576XP Busted Piston

Good morning all and thank you for allowing my account to this forum! I have read numerous posts and am amazed at the amount of knowledge here! I was working with my dad and brother yesterday beginning to cut wood (red oak) for the winter. I checked over the saw as normal, topped off fuel...

    Best 357xp piston replacement?

Curious as to what piston replacment everyone is using on the later 357xp. (15mm needle bearing) Oem jug, modestly ported. Oem pistons are looking pricey. I'm seeing pop ups made by hyway and lilredbarn but I'm a skeptic.. I also read to steer clear of the hyway flattop replacment piston...

Just curious what guys are getting 10mm pistons for stateside. Tore down my 10mm to check things over and re ring and tighten the squish. Figured I would check the price on an OEM piston for *s-words and giggles, ended up being mostly *s-words....170 bucks. :( On a positive note the piston wash looked...

    Husqvarna 550xp pop up

So, after doing some research and not finding much on making a pop up piston for the 550xp, I have decided to make one to try and post my results. After measuring the squish, (with gasket) and finding it to be .030" I have decided to turn .030" off the base of the cylinder and .020" off the...

    Dolmar 7900 / 7910 piston options

I built up a Makita 6401 a few years back with an OEM 7900 cylinder and piston. I ported it and was very happy with the results. I subsequently gave it to my BIL who got a few years of service out of it. I just got it back to repair because wasn’t running right.... The impulse line was...

Got my 288xp NOS KS cylinder!

So I was up late on night and saw this in eBay for $125.00 I think I got an alright price. Now do I keep it stock or port it for my 288. Seems like a shame to cut up a new cylinder. Oh well at any rate enjoy the naked too end pic. Does anyone know the going rate for these cylinders in like...

Help me decide what Husky to keep

Hi guys I'm hoping to get your help on deciding what chainsaw to keep and which one to sell. So I picked up a Husqvarna 51 chainsaw locally 6 months ago that seemed to run strong and was priced right. Well sure enough once I got it home and dug a little deeper I learned that wasn't the case...

Poll: Next best aftermarket piston and cylinder

From what I gather, the most recommended piston and cylinders are either OEM or Meteor. Which leaves the question, other than these two what is your next favorite replacement P & C, as lets say the first options were either unavailable or unfordable for your build. Let me know if I left out...
