my first post over here.i have a 2011 model x torq that I rebuilt and couple months ago.new bearings, seals, caber ings, did no base gasket and 3/4 pipe out the front.had issues with the original carb feeding way to much fuel.stuck it in box till later lol.bought a new RW4J-B.now even with this new carb been having a issue with it feeding to much fuel.and I have figured out its when the saw is held at half throttle the worse.when ya let off it will just die.my I need to remove the dividers in the air filter holder and boot??

Yeah my brother and I were the last two 372s comparing in Walt's vid "Sibling rivalry and what's in a chain". His is the ported 372 XT and mine is the ported XPW. Josh just recently swapped an OEM 75cc top end onto his XT...after he ported it of course. ;) I expect to see his ported XT top end for sale at some point.

Ha ha.on my original carb yes.i did a pressure test in a bowl.after I bent the metering lever down it passed the test.but the new carb did also.my original says RWJ4 the new one looks the same but says RWJ4B.honestly it's possible I had the idle backed out way to far.it did run after I cleaned up the flood.i left the darn stop switch on.i need to run it some more but I got it close.after half throttle it idles much better.ill have to shoot a video.

Glad you got it sorted out :applaudit:. Not sure what the "B" designates on your new carb as far as any differences. There's guys on here who's carb knowledge is up in the stratosphere and I'm sure you could get an answer to that question. Them dern kill switches move on their own, I swear it. Lol!

I bought it on eBay new.they did say it's OEM number.i will say the manual says to set the metering lever level with the top of the carb.i can tell ya that's wrong.it has to be level with the inside dip of the carb.there not flat all the way across.

Coils and carbs are not necessarily interchangeable on these saws. Especially with the OP's saw being a 2011 model as that is when the digital advance coil showed up. (week 21 of 2011). It's not like it won't work, but it probably makes for a fussy saw when trying to adjust it.

The latest coil came out in the second half of last year and is fully interchangeable. This coil has a different start curve, and combined with a smaller hole in the deco eliminates that "misfire" that would happen occasionally when starting the saw. The misfire didn't really mean anything, but once you hear that you normally think the coil is on it's way out. The deco will also help with flooding on cold starts cause some guys would pull the rope 20 times with the choke out and wonder why the saw was flooded. The old deco dropped the compression a little too much, so it was easier to pull but not easier to start, especially when new.

The low speed adjustment has always been touchy on this saw IMO. The sweet spot you need to find is narrow. Doesn't take too much extra fuel on the low speed circuit to cause fuel pooling in that divided intake. What I do is let it idle and then tip the saw pointing the bar towards the ground and see if it stumbles. If so I'll lean out the low until the idle stays OK when I point the saw down.

Gutting the whole intake makes all of this go away of course, and is usually done when guys mod these saws. But you shouldn't have to do that to make it run right and obviously most saws don't go to the modder's bench.
