Ive used motoseal and 1194 on many clams with no issue. I make a thin layer on both pieces then put the fine tip thing on and do a small bead similar to a oem sthil base gasket is. Let it firm up good and torque properly. That thin bead goes around the seals/bearings too.

I'm convinced this saw wants to die. Ran the bearing cap on a flat surface with 200 grit. installed small nozzle on the motoseal, let it set about 20 minutes and re assembled the bottom end. Let stand 3 days. Tonight I put the top end back on and went to pressure test =0. Had to reseal the exhaust, droped the saw on the porch and broke my spark plug adapter. Drilled and retapped it pressure tested =0. Found hole in hose from being dropped. Pressure tested, starting to rise, maybe I'm getting somewhere, crap now I start seeing bubbles in the sink (doing this in the kitchen while wife is out) Leaking from the cap on the intake side now, was exhaust side last time. Going back in a milk crate until I find another 346,351,353 bottom end.
