oem and kafar kit saws have brandy new chains on, fluids drained, and are ready for the gtg. ...

i'll likely be hitting up NY state gtg first, so they will get first crack at these

I'll ask them to not post any conclusions until after the ct gtg :)

Ok...just for completeness. ..I tore into my hyway saw...I found line on the piston....so I figured I'd put a new ring in and shine up the cylinder. Here is what it looks like20160403_111355.jpg 20160403_123500.jpg 20160403_123546.jpg 20160403_123554.jpg 20160403_123559.jpg

Yes. ..the above pics is the saw from last year's gtg that everyone liked. Porting is darn close to what I did to the other saws of the bunch. But here's the new twist.

Let's put my hyway cylinder combustion chamber next to the new hyway cylinder Bruce sent me a couple months ago.

Old

New20160403_123838.jpg

Keep in mind...I did not cut squish band on the old one. Both of these cylinders are supposedly hyway cylinders but from different years and different sources.

Anyone care to comment?

Notice on the exhaust side transfer tunnel...looks like something has been rubbed off.

On the flywheel side is a similar rub on both cylinders. No marks on the cylinders say hyway. But....

I lowered the extensions and did quite a bit of grinding on all the cylinders.

But yes...the old cylinder does give more comp than any of the new ones. :) quite a bit more in fact.

Problem is...I can't speak to the new hyway cylinder....haven't used it yet.
