Regarding problems with the carb on the 2100 it can mess with your mind .Firstly it's a "rattle ball " governer type which limits high speed revs to keep from blowing the engine .I thought I had that problem and replaced it with a non governed which I had to transfer some of the linkage to make it work .Worked for a while but failed after a long run .Little did I know it was supposed have a rear brace to keep the carb from loosening up .Took me a long time to find it but that cured it .Runs just fine now starts rather easy and cuts like a beaver on steroids .Just info for those who don't know .Pic of the brace .

You are correct, but it is an option if parts are not available.
We didn't have much for good options for quite a while. Now though, there's the Duke's 2100 piston that is an excellent direct replacement.

Perhaps it was in-stock somewhere in there and I missed it. The 395 piston definitely is a one-way street for a 2100…no going back
No, I have been watching for it, checking almost weekly. I ended up getting my 2100 piston from Lil' Red Barn off of eBay. I have not run the saw enough to see how it will perform, but the saw does fire up. When Duke's gets theres back in stock, I will be getting one of those too (maybe two of them now that I know @Stump Shot is hording them :D )
