I would think that someone who is selling such a successful line of saws would not be so bitter about things.

I did not knock the 562, it has always been one of the strongest 60 cc saws out there, but I should not be criticized for making a factually accurate statement about a saw as if I'm over emphasizing what a darn bolt weights.

Don't know why there is a bee in your bonnet, but I'm not going to be afraid to post the facts.

If you think I posted anything inaccurate, please correct the record for us.

By the way, that is a VG price for that saw!

And as for you Mason, you ALWAYS compare Husky, Dolmar, Stihl to each other, so don't act like you don't know where comments about other brands come from. It's a normal part of our discussion, and there is nothing wrong with that.

And just because we have our preferences does not mean we don't want to know about other brands, it is why we are here!

I always preferred the Fords and Mustangs, but lots of my good friends were into bowties and mopars. Just think of how boring it would get if we all had the exact same thing! You think I would ever want to go to a car show and not see other brands, or not be familiar with the motors that are in them???

I hope everyone takes a deep breath and loosens their panties a little.

I just come here to learn.. Have ran both of the big brands and for long terms per brand. 660's 461's 661's, 385's minimal time with a 390, tons of hours on multiple 395's both ported and stock. I burn allot of fuel yearly

Have recently switched to a 500i, so far

On a side note, until I mounted an hour meter on my old daily felling saw I coulda swore that damn thing had a gazillion hours on it.... Perspective is real

And the MS 460, forgot about that model. Ran those for a couple years as a daily rig. The stihls definately have a different exhaust pitch to them. But reliable they have been.

Thread derail of course, but proof that brand loyalty isn't squat when production logging.

Mason, young man... After reading through this thread my best advice to you and you can take it or leave it..

Use caution. Head on a swivel. Your not what you think you are quite yet, and nobody is. If you are making a living with this saw then run the snot out of it. Then start fresh with a new one and mount an hour meter.......

Lol

This is so tiring after a while.

All of this Husky needs to respond to stihl stuff is comical. What do you mean, "if they want to compete with stihl.

They are leading, not following.

The new 90cc class saw will move the needle even more.

I agree, it is tiring.

Regarding fuel injection, I was just happy to see something new in the chainsaw world, be it a performance revolution or not.

I gots a Hooskie 262XP. Lol

As do I, is the fact that it is still a great saw more testament to its excellent design or begging of the question could saws have improved more over the last 30 years?

Bob, my threads always seem to attract the stihl guys for some reason lol.
Most of the husky thread would attract stihl guys. They just enjoy *s-wordting everywhere..
As one with no brand loyalty at all. I just buy the best of that brand, if I could afford.

In the logger world, it's all about hype... at the beginning.
Many loggers bought the 500i immediately, but after some time, a lot of them are replacing them with 572's. Why? Because of the reliability, the smoothness, the torque, the air filter quality, etc.

The 572 is not the lightest saw I ever owned, or the strongest. But day after day, she'll start every time, cut a lot of wood, and never let me down. And 500i or 462's users can't say the same.

That's the reason I don't care about the "extra weight", or the "lack" of FI. Extra lightweight and NASA technology don't obviously make a better saw.

Yup, makes sense to me. I ain’t the best logger who ever lived... and the 572 ain’t the best saw that ever lived. I never said that. No saw is truely the best that ever lived anyway. I just pick the one that best suits the task I am doing. Choosing the right tool for the job is all it is. The 572 does what I need it to reliably and performance is very good. The 572 is probably one of the better “all around” packages. Its comfortable doing a lot of different tasks. A well rounded machine. My go to saw for most things. I have to say it’s one of the most reliable “electric carbed” saws I have used at least up to this point. It’s tough and can take rigorous use. Well except the chainbrake... but that was more my fault than anything. Lol

I take a little offense to your statement.
As an owner of Dolkita Hooskie, and Stihl, I enjoy running all of them.
I guess the Hooskie boys and Dolkita boys are saints...

Yeah, it's funny. Maybe the Husky threads are more interesting. :) But to add to your real world study, most of the lessons learned there apply to any saw. What really matters to guys who work in the woods all day.

Not bitter Mike; but some of this stuff never ends. You didn't knock the 562, just made a mistake about the weight. Then an expert chimed in with more errors, about a bearing change that didn't take place. (wouldn't have been a bad idea. LOL) The place where the extra bolt goes is called a hole; they usually don't weigh much. The 562 didn't gain weight, but published weights between web sites, owners manuals and catalogs never agree and certainly cause a lot of confusion. Factually accurate? Not really.

Sawmikazi's bolt isn't that far off from some of the tap-cons I've seen guys run into their saws here and there. The green ones seem to be the favorites.

It did get a good bit heavier, not just a bolts worth, was the case
not redesigned so there would be a place to put this one bolt, was there
a bearing increased in size too. Either way we might see a replacement,
if they want to compete with Stihl, even if the 362 were to dissapear the
power the 400 has to offer would temp people away from whats an older
design with less to offer.

I have "rescued" an assortment of ragtag, bargain-basement, craigslist castaway Stihl pro-level saws, including a lean-seized ms460 that was destined for the local dealer's "bone yard". They all run reasonably well now for their vintage. But I'm totally impressed with the 572xp, clearly miles ahead of anything I have.

Who is the expert who said a bearing change took place, I asked / said did they change a bearing in that saw.
I like how tough that saw is, the only thing I don't like is the hot start issues lots had. It is faster doing what a 60cc saw does, Echo and Stihl are not as fast, they both bring other qualities to the table, Stihl 362 is a bit lighter, Echo 620 has more torque with a longer bar hurried. I like all models, and agree the 572 is a fine saw, which is what this thread is about. I appreciate the OP taking time to share his experience with us all, and value his opinion.
