What angles you have your granberg set at ?

Don't see a problem with those results at all.

Thanks. Was a little worried I had too much top plate angle. Cuts good though, feels faster than round chisel and definitely not as grabby.

And a good square is a wonderful tool for bore cutting.

What angles you have your granberg set at ?

I played with it a bit and ended up at 40 on the top and 25 tilt. Played with file roll til side plate angle looked right waiting on my protractor to measure that.

It's hard to see in the pics but the file is rolled in the holder. I used some round spacers from McMaster so the file can be turned to any angle.

Getting the 404 squared up. Not much side plate yet. Going to try it like this if I've got something that will pull it.

I like how you mounted it to the vise. I also like the thumb wheels in place of the wing nuts.

Thanks. I wanted the Stihl bench mount version but wasn't willing to pay the asking price for one of those. The thumb wheels do make changing angles much easier, they came from mcmaster also.

I've got one. But I don't think the angles will adjust that much. I need to look closer at it.

I also removed the spring from the depth adjuster and put a jam nut there. Stays locked in place better and you can use the flats and points as reference for adjustment.

That's going to be my next mod as well.

I have the fallers here hooked on it like Crack.
Nothing like the fastest chain they've ever used that bores better than any they've used.

Just a little update, I checked my file roll angle and it is set to 10°. I will add that in my opinion, while somewhat tedious, it is worth it to reset file roll so you can file into the tooth on each side of the chain.

do you have the square grinding attachment for the usg? or are you fitting that on another grinder. I have several of those wheels, just waiting to score the attachment. needle in a haystack.
