I see the 460 saws are sometimes priced way more than either the 660 or 440!

I was considering a 4 pack, but the 460s were almost $100 above the other 2!

Yeah I noticed that also? Before I got the G372xp I thought about the 440 with a bb kit.

Ya my 046 I had was kinda meh... for a bigger saw you think it would outcut a 036 pro but, I couldn't tell much difference other than the 046 was heavier. I bought the 046 for $100 and it was halfway taken apart in a box. I put it back together and sold it for $450. I've since been looking for a decent 036 pro but, they are hard to come by in this area and people want $450+ for them! So... I came across these clones on YouTube and thought it would be a fun project and the ms660 was supposedly the easiest one to build. I've got mine put together and everything works well after a few tweaks. Hopefully I'll be able to get out in the woods soon and test it out. It is kind of an addictive hobby haha I'm all ready to click "order" on my next one. I'll Probably end up building an ms361 an ms440 and an 036 if they ever get them back in stock.

They change on a regular basis, keep checking and you will get a deal. It is only saying 15% now.

It often changes every midnight.

The 25 + 30% off are the times to strike!

I get the feeling that they up the shipping whenever they "discount" them. But, I have seen on rare occasion good deals. I'd part with mine fore the right price since I don't have much sawing to do lately, and I have a 395.

All this excitement over the possibility of waiting for months to get a kit of potentially defective and missing parts.

I'll try to keep looking. My curiosity is getting the best of me.
If I could find a project MS660 I would buy it. I sold one a year or so ago around the time right before my mom died. Really had not time then to mess with any saws. The MS660 would be in for a complete resto.

I just tried running my old version 660 cylinder. I filled the intake to 81, raised the transfers to 115 and kept them flat, no other real porting, exhaust is 94-95. I noticed the MMWS Cross cylinder transfers were angled up a good bit, but this one seems to run well. Not as strong, only 145psi stock compression, but it would pass for a 660 power wise. 250degF 2min after a few long cuts in a row, no idle time, 45deg outside here. I'm going to tweak my Cross cylinder, which is the best looking AM cylinder I've ever seen. Hopefully the new batch is as good, and the wait time from top notch QC.

Is the baffle necessary? Or can I just throw it away?
Yes it’s necessary unless you want to soak the filter with gas and the saws performance suffer from that. You can remove it and put the foam spitback piece the older 066 and 064 came with but I don’t think that would make any difference.

Just curious because, my buddies 044 doesn't have that.

I think it may have the foam. Just got a tachometer on this thing and it seems to be idling around 2800. Was still kinda cold though. I'll play with it some more tomorrow and try and get my settings dialed in.

Well, about two weeks after my two year warranty was up (bought it on E-Bay from a guy that made it, he is no longer on ebay), it threw a clutch spring, so, I replaced all three. Though I was thinking about replacing with a better clutch. It needs the throttle trigger and bar, it is hard to start and the choke goes off on the 1st pull.

It idles fine ... at about 3800 rpms. I turned it down to 12500 for the high rpms. Seems to cut fine, about equal to my Husky 385. Once I have the 385 back together, I am going to do a side my side test running 32" full comp in some 28" oak.

Know I've been gone awhile I've had a good deal of stuff on my plate. Some of the throttle linkages in the saws needed some love from the get go. But swapping out to a OEM group will solve a lot of the problems off the bat without taking it disassembling and reassembling multiple times. I had to deburr and polish mine before it would act right.
