Anyone run the Farmtech ms660 high flow oil
Pumps? My first one shredded the plastic worm gear. Replacement oil pump seems to be the same….

And they knew it was a fake? We have a local farmertec dealer (builder) on the Nashville CL as of recently.
Is that the guy currently on craigslist Nashville? He has a clone 660 for $450. I am interested in one but don't want to buy dumb!

Yes, and facebook too selling 660, 372, and maybe a 200t and 044 also. He obviously isn't trying to pass them off as real, but who knows what the build quality is. Does the oil pump put out enough oil? Did he clean the metal grit well enough out of the areas that need it? Will the oil line fail soon from the sharp edges in the hole it goes through? Is the cylinder at risk of overheating because the poor casting seam restricts airflow through the cooling fins? Does the clutch disengage from the oil pump on the 372 because the shaft is too long?

That is both random and specific! Haha I love it.

I asked him if these are the cheap Asian clones that he is assembling. I got a one word answer, "yes". I think I am going to pass. Might be a good build, might not. I think I may just buy a new saw. I think I can get a husky xp395 for around $1300. Probably a smarter buy. Thanks for the insight.

Can't go wrong with a new 395XP.

There are sponsors for this site and others that often offer 20% off sales that would put you in 1000.00$ range for that 395xp. That would be buying smart.

Thanks for that, I haven't been here long enough to know things like that. Will explore the site sponsors.

Finally got around to putting mine to work. Took like 10 minutes to cut this tiny load of wood for my garage. She has no problems running a 24" with full comp and a 8t sprocket. We even did a plunge cut just playing around with it. That fir log is about 32-34" across.

My friend in the picture decided he wanted me to build one so I've got another on order. Have a hyway popup and a dual port muffler as well as a west coast clutch cover. This one will get all the ricer saw upgrades. I need to find a little spoiler to fit it. Haha. I've ordered the right angle piece for my grinder. Going to Hopefully get this thing together by Christmas. My other buddy just got his 881 from the stihl dealership he works at. Going to have to go check out that bad boy out soon.

I should probably go with the high volume oil pump? I think he will be running a bar around 30-34" mine doesn't sling much oil off the chain with a 24" and the bar oil I'm running is pretty thin.
Yeah the high volume oil pump made a dramatic difference in both I've worked on.

I think I'm going to try modifying the one on my saw and see if I can get it to put out more oil. After doing some research you can modify the ramp so the piston has a longer stroke and therefore pumps more oil. That may be the way to go..

I mill with 36" bars on two of them, and have not had any failures, so they must work "well enough".

I think as long as you keep your chains sharp, you will be just fine.
