Guy wants $80 for these cylinders with hoses. Thinking about them for a hydraulic lift on my splitter.

Ought to have plenty of oomph. If my math is right at 2000psi you should have about 9800lbs of linear force on the push stroke.

Picking them up this evening.

While I don't know much about hydraulic cylinders these seem to be in good condition. They both have lines attached to them and the free ends are quick disconnects, which leads me to believe they probably still have oil in them. No apparent leaks anywhere. They were the lift cylinders on a pull behind disc. The gentleman got them along with the disc plow, but never remounted them and used them.
My plan is to use one for the lift arm. That way I can raise the arm with several rounds on it, then use it as an area to hold them while I split them. Save my back from constantly having to lift 1 round at a time. The other one I'll use to make an adjustable height wedge.
I'll probably use a lot of advice on how to plumb this creature together. While I understand hydraulic theory, building it for the best bang for my dollar is important. (Yeah, yeah. I know. I'm just cheap).

Bigger bore will be slower and wont heat up fluid like a reducer will. The old saying bigger is better holds true in this instance.

Best get a flow control valve on the line feeding it. Needle or check & choke.

I have adjustable flow control valves going to the lift on mine.
