How much to advance the timing? Half a key?
At least.. I go more usually. But not always.
Use a piston stop when re-setting the flywheel, or it can move a little on ya when tightening.
Clean, dry surfaces and a couple braps with a cordless impact.

Whaddaya buff it with?

I use buffing compound for clear coat. It's the 3m extra cut. It'll cut a 1200-1500 grit scratch. But mothers has a buffing compound I've used with success b4.

I think Brody had the advantage. He was throwing a 1/4 oz silver Little Cleo while gramps needed 3/8 oz to make his baitcaster work properly.[emoji848]

I did have to school him how to use his forefinger and thumb to hold them proper.

Dad's old 039 that he bought new in '92-94 was a great saw for years. I then found pre-link bucks AS, opened the muffler a good bit and defeated the limiters. It found 2 new gears. Ran great right up to the ay that it was set ablaze n a truck... I've "fixed" a few 029s and they do VERY well afterwards, but they're loud. A friend has worked a muffler mod out which redirects the sound waves a few times, with little restriction and is both far better flowing and not loud. Nearly eliminates the higher frequencies and is VERY nice. The 261 is done that way now and the Stumpbroke will be shortly. It and I may be better friends after that.

Regained custody of the old Dodge yesterday.

I filled a lawn/leaf bag with the trash out of it. At least Mike didn’t throw the crap out on the street.[emoji6]

This will let us make more trips without the ‘ball & chain’ (Blondie).

Thunder runs to Bishops, etc..

Carl, what year Elky is that and what's the driveline???

Elky? Translate please.[emoji848]

1995.

3.0 L v6, three spd auto. AC don’t work but most everything else does.

Originally the Dodge was owned by an old couple in Fort Scott, Ks.

By my calculation they put just short of 5,000 miles/year on it.

I bought it to give son a go to work car.

Just got Lilly back from the Vet. Spayed.
I was worried all day. You hear all the horror stories about them dieing under anesthesia, but she's doing fine. A little sore but ok.
Now, maybe I can settle down.
