104,000 mile on him. 92,000 when bought three years ago. Mostly Mike’s get to work transportation. 3.0L Mitsubishi OHC. Leaks oil some but could be worse.

We have had Mopar vans since our ‘83 Plymouth Voyger.

The 2015 Dodge is our fifth new van.

Someday I hope to own a real car!
Those 3.0 Mitsubishi's were good to me. I put 260K on the first one and close to 200K on the 2nd. Only Dodges I ever owned.

I did one on a 390, big brother to the 029/290. There's a cage inside the muffler. Used that as a guide for a hole straight out the front. About 110% the size of the exhaust port. Mine was about 3/4 inch diameter. Really woke that thing up. Tons of power versus stock.

Does a muffler mod give any significant boost to an 029? If so, what type of mod? Havent even pulled muff yet
Just peek behind that diverter cover on the front and you'll see only one small oval hole for the exhaust. You can enlarge that one, and while you're at it, add another one or two.

Got to give a big shout out to @sawnami for his advice on getting this Homie to run. After putting seals, carb kits, fuel lines and filter, spark plug, NOS carburetor, and way too many hours on it, success. He suggested trying a new condenser even though it seemed to have spark and started easily. Just wouldn’t take any throttle. It’s a nice saw now!

I cut the hole square out behind the deflecter...... then cut another slot it it.
Loud but that' what 290's like :)
I little smaller wouldn't hurt it
I tend to get excessive
Advancing the timing helps a bunch

Rebuilt a 036 pro carburetor tonight.
It needs a muffler mod, it sounds like a vacuum cleaner. Ran another 1/2 tank threw the 660. Started getting another saw ready to ship

What everyone else has said and trim the limiters. Don't remove them. Other wise the carb will rattle out of tune. I know of some that have slapped a 044 carb on them too.

Hello everybody. Busy day yesterday.

Steph Curry has ruined the game of basketball; maybe not ruined but definitely changed the way the game is played. Everybody (doesn't matter how young) wants to shoot the 3. Apparently there are only 2 ways to score now: drive the lane or shoot the 3, the jump shot in between is obsolete. I could probably count on one hand how many jump shots (from either team) were attempted in 80 minutes of play time.

Anyhow, Sam hit 4 3-pointers in the first game and 3 in the second game (I am guessing at about 50% avg.), only playing about half of each game.

Stihl 021, 023, 025, 029, 039

Easiest and biggest hp gains ever with proper muffler mod.
Timing advance will get ya a little more.

Got around to checking out Wright #2 more closely.
We may be in luck. The carb looks like a fresh refurbished.

This one was stuck when taken out of the box near three years ago.[emoji37]

But it was likely just carbon chunks/dirt.

Depends on how bad it is. I'd start in the 320-400 range if it doesn't have a lot of oxidization. And work ur way up to 1500+ then buff. I've had some that was so bad I used 120 to start.
