Picked this up this afternoon. View attachment 93303
Amazing condition.
An Excello. Made by Hineke Corp.
Spfd, Illinois.
So far it looks like the engine dates to 1949.
Found my notes. Engine was born Jan 49.
Haven't found any numbers, yet, on the mower itself. Hopefully some numbers will show when I start cleaning it. Specs I've found on the engine show a whopping 1/2 hp.

I sent the winch boys home with a Remy PL-55 powerhead, 82cc.

That is classic. A Monkey Ward's with a Lewis winch. What a great setup!

I've had days like that at work.
At my last job, EVERY day was like that, pretty much all day. I just had a long talk with Gary, a retired gentleman who works there as a para just so he can be useful to others, and he says the drama there is still as insane as ever, but the new principal has matters better in hand. Huge amount of pressure on the teachers, though. More documentation, "accountability," and the usual extra layers of additional expectations. I am so glad to be away from there. I feel badly that it had to end with me in full retreat, and that it meant I admitted defeat, but I can get over that. I like having my health back, especially with Nancy being so hit-or-miss on any given day. I just worry about the folks "left behind," so to speak, both the children and the adults. Yeesh. I need to be praying more, men.

Good morning, by the way!

I found some heavy aluminum 16' gutter sections at Menard's yesterday, so I will be assembling another unit of scaffolding and starting on the north side. About a 42' length to catch the water from a series of 16' long metal roof panels. 6/12 pitch or thereabouts, THis calls for a 3" x 4" downspout. I figure it will catch the water falling on about 575 square feet, which the other night was surely significant. Have a good, productive day!

Found more information online.
The mower section is 1949, also.

Don’t follow so close Cobey!

About hit a large buck one night leaving the Indian casino. Had to brake hard. Fellow tailgating me near collected us for a hood ornament.

He backed off about a city block the rest of the way into Hiawatha.

Late October/November you got to slow it down. Love is in the air.
