Looks like a good start! If you decide to let go of it let me know. Had a guy looking for one over here.

Probably original rim and bar.
It was all together. Could
Make something on it , but sure would
Like to find a "fair condition "
Cylinder (this one is real good)
And do some grinding on it and see
What I can make one of these saws do

That looks good! How long did that take you?

About two tanks. I didn't keep track of time. Maybe an hour?

It's not particularly straight or square, but it is my first beam out of a tree I cut down. Hackberry. I need to pain the ends and get it on some stickers in the shade.

Today I start on a nice tall 12" across (or so) locust. I plan to mill that; it would make a structural beam that'll hold up anything...

038, good call.[emoji106]
That's the one I had at the GTG Saturday, with an 18" bar and reasonably sharp full chisel chain. This one performs, though I had to prime it to start for some reason. After twenty pulls, the plug was dry as a bone. I do not like the choke setup on these, it's like the littler saws. 70 and up I consider more of a big saw. I have two more 038 mag runners that need "tested," and two more logs to mill from the same tree, though one of them is 20" thick, so this will be a job for the 009 super mag.... actually i'll probably call the 056 into service on that with a 25" bar.
