Stepped a little outside of the box and picked this up. The guy is bringing a "big aluminum chainsaw" for me to look at today. Got excited until I thought "David Bradley", then the feeling disappeared. [emoji39]

Fuel dump day. Dumping every saw after a brief attempt to start.

One Olympyk had a teaspoon of water in it.[emoji15]

Prolly from giving it 'the dip'.

Evening Marc.
Wassup?

Where you been

Busy, busy, busy. Too many things to unload here. I still lurk here and there, just rarely have time to post. I'm trying to change that by rearranging some priorities. I have a couple of old Macs waiting for Workshop and I need to get ready for cutting season. Speaking of...

How would y'all feel about a Saturday charity cut in northwest Arkansas next month or October? I know an elderly couple who heat and cook with wood and they are just too old to do it themselves anymore. I have some trees lined up but it's more than I can handle alone. I also can arrange lunch, coffee and cold drinks for anyone who would like to help out.

Trees are red and white oak, 24" to 36" diameter, most in good places to cut and split, but a couple are on a little of a slope.

I want to have it on a weekend that Steve (Workshop) can join. He's available every other weekend, but I forgot which ones he's available. Maybe he will chime in and we can have a little GTG / Charity event soon.

P.S. - the food will be home cookin' by a neighbor of mine. She said she can feed as many as I can bring. I told her not to be too sure about that just in case Matt showed up with Levi.

Let's plan for one of those.

This couple is in their 80's and the wife still cooks on a wood stove.

Two trees are down but the others will need to be dropped. They're all in a field so none of them should be a problem. We don't have to clean up limbs or anything, just cut, split, and let it sit. The family will be picking it up and delivering it to the house. The landowner will be on hand with his tractor (with a bucket) for clearing limbs out of the way for us.

You need a trailer load of unsplit rounds (mix of oak and softer wood) or will there be enough on the ground?

Regardless, I will be there if at all possible.

That's a very kind offer, and I'm sure they would be happy to have it. Their grandson told me they use about 10 cords in a cold winter. He heats a workshop (mid 80's and still likes to tinker) in addition to heating and cooking at the house.
